Out of the camper

Well with a glad and sad heart,I sold our 5th wheel over the weekend. As I've posted last year I lost my wife of 48 yrs to cancer. We loved to travel and see the country, and we did get to a lot of places. After she died,I lost the interest of going.Just no fun by your self.I did take the camper out for a three day trip to a lake we liked to go to.Just was really lost in that 42'. I decided to sell and I did.I had a bunch of tears when the new owners pulled it out of the driveway. It was her pride and joy.The good thing is it's going to Table Rock Lake.In Shell knob.We used to go there 3-4 times a year when the kids were little, back in the day.Stayed at Lunker landing. Any ways,I think she would be happy with that. All y'all have a safe and fun time with your travels. Now to sell the the "Big Black Heifer"

So sorry to hear this.... one of life's hard decisions. My B-I-L took his unit to a consignment RV seller this past weekend. He had a stroke from which he appeared to recover but his trailer backing skills have diminished.

Here's hoping for good fortune in the future with bright and sunny skies ahead.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. Camping creates memories which then become treasures.

So sorry for your loss.
My BIL lost his wife 3 years ago. Like us, they loved camping. After she passed, he went out a couple of times alone and twice with us. Just wasn't the same. He sold his motor home and is trying to move on.
Good luck and prayers to you.

Lost Wife

I too lost my wife to cancer 2 years ago, so I know the feeling. I ended up selling my class C with memories attach to it. But I had to get back to camping with my friends, which eases my loose, as we reminisce about the good time we all had. I just down sized to a 25' TT this year to continue camping like I know my wife would of wanted me to do.

My hubby and I both cancer survivors hope we can continue our journey for many more years to come. So sorry you lost your love. Perhaps you’ll want to try a much smaller unit and find some folks with similar interests to camp with. Kim and Fred

Boy I know what you mean by an empty 5th wheel. We had bought our first 5th wheel spring of 2016 and headed out for Alaska. She passed away in Fairbanks June 6th 2016. So that left me with a brand new truck and 5th wheel and one sad Australian Shepherd dog. Well we managed to pull it together and continue to spend another two months in Alaska before heading home. Man that was a long haul running solo.

So I still have the truck and trailer and a new wife to share it with me.
