Outdoor kitchen burners

Hi folks, we've just downsized from a Surveyor 29 to a SP240 with an outdoor kitchen. The question is does anyone really use the two burners much?

I'm thinking of ditching the burners, a new counter and a Blackstone grill in it's place.

Thanks!

I use mine for boiling crab or anything else that might not be desirable to cook inside.

If i need a grill I just lay a cast iron plate across burners that was designed for that purpose.

Liver and Fish were both invented for "OUTSIDE STOVES."
and that's my 2 cents.

This is what we did to our Surveyor outdoor kitchen last camping season. We never used the gas grill so replaced it with a 17" Blackstone Griddle. Only down side is I do most of the cooking now.

We have a different model, but a full outdoor kitchen. I removed the built-in pull out two burner cook top and replaced it with a second drawer. I am not a big fan of cooking close to the RV. I use a camp stove either on a small stand or the table instead. I finds that cooking burgers, steak or even breakfast will eventually add a thin film of grease on the outside of the RV that attracts dirt and dust. In addition, most outdoor kitchens have a vent or two in them that allow for heat from the fridge to be vented to the interior of the RV when it is closed up. This will allow smoke and grease to enter the RV. As a side note if you do have these vents, you should consider adding screens over them to keep insects out when the kitchen is open. The vents are usually behind the fridge.

ScarlettD, here are the two pictures I have of the Blackstone griddle install.
I drilled out two rivets with an 1/8" bit, then increased the holes to 1/4". Centered the griddle and allowed some space behind the metal shield in the back. Some 1/4" x 20 bolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts. At first I used the one pound propane cylinders. When I got home I ordered the DOZYANT 1/4" RV quick connect adapter conversion fitting and use the quick connect hose that came with the TT .
I leave the cast iron griddle on the base when we travel and use a nylon strap to secure it.

Great minds think alike!!!

Removed the Aussie grill and have the 17" Blackstone in its place. We use it every trip and with the $25 adapter, uses the trailer's propane quick connect port.

Stowed away for travel, the Camp Chef Everest 2 burner camp stove sits snuggly on top of Blackstone.
