Outdoor Storage Site Needed-Northern Illinois

I park my Salem Hemisphere 282RK on a gravel lot in DeKalb, Illinois. I pay the owner a very modest fee. This year he agreed to allow me to install a 40 foot Shelter Logic RV garage. I contacted the city to inquire about the process and they told me I would need a permit. I ordered the unit and once it arrived, I called the city again to start the permit paperwork only to learn they don't allow "temporary structures". I've been going around and around with them for three weeks because of the different information I received from my first call to the second.

At any rate, I'm looking for a new place to park outside of city limits so I can put up the canopy. If anyone knows of a farmer within 15-20 miles of DeKalb, IL 60115 that is interested in some rental income I'm in the market!

I already checked with my insurance company and any damage caused to the property or other structures by the canopy should it get picked up by a wind storm would be covered by my policy.

Hi,

Check with Rick at Holiday Hour (the RV dealer on 38 east of town). He might have some land on the back side of his property for that use, or know someone who would be inclined to let you do what you are proposing.

All else fails, he rents space behind the business for storage, although that may or may not be cheaper than what you're paying now.
