Tailer with brakes require an annual inspection in PA as I understand it. Make sure to shop around though as I was quoted around $100 from 2 places that did 'trailer inspections'. Casually mentioned to my auto mechanic and he said yeah we do them... bring it by tomorrow. $25 dollars later has it's sticker.

Yup, just had mine done. Closer to $50 from my usual mechanic. They need it hooked up to the tow vehicle to check lights and brakes work. Luckily I live right beside the garage so I didn't even have to move my trailer sticker is on the forward left (driver) side trailer window, easy for a cop to see if he walks up to the TV if you get stopped ;(
For those in other states: PA requires brakes (& therefore inspection) on any trailer rated at 3000# GTWR or above. I used to have an enclosed cargo trailer with a 3.5K axle that was legally rated only to 2990# due to no brakes.

Yes, as mentioned, trailers with brakes (>3k) need an annual inspection.
$30 here in Somerset County.
