Parking an RV year round somewhere?

Thinking of buying a fifth wheel as a getaway for the wintertime. Are there CGs or resorts where i can park it permanently (or annually) in a site yr round anywhere in the US or just in the south…..id only use it in wintertime for 2-4 months…leave it there kinda like a second residence. Not sure if this is even an option. Thank you.

Yes, lots of people do this and there are parks all over that will rent you a long term site.

Have you considered a park model trailer? These are specifically designed for being parked permanently.

Unless you’re ever going to move the 5th wheel, I agree a park model might be a much better option. They’re roomier, more like a house, and may be cheaper than a similarly sized 5th wheel. Many years ago I looked at some in a cg I was staying and some models even had an upper sleeping loft.

That being said, you’re not going to ever tow it down the road to another cg should you get tired of where you’re staying.

Plenty of campgrounds around that offer seasonal or permanent sites. We had a seasonal site for 10 years. Gated campground was open April 15 - Oct 15 but seasonals' could use their camper all year long. Being in WI the water was shut off during the winter so we had to bring our own. Each seasonal site had a buried 300 gal septic tank. We had to pay our own electric.

Oh! What do i need to look up for either option? Is a “park model trailer” an rv or a little modular? Where do i look to find such things? (Or what to type into the search engine i mean) thanks!

Why not just buy a mobile home somewhere? I don't understand why people take a perfectly road-worthy trailer and just leave it somewhere. I would think a mobile home would be a better, cheaper, and more durable option.

Thought about that too but we want it parked at the final place to be located in Florida. We live in MD. My hubby is 70. With buying an already existing park house we couldn't go
Look at it beforehand. With an RV we can buy one here and tow it there- set it up and know what we have. We work so going down to to fla to check out already existing homes is out of the question…...

Also we want to be able to move it easily if and when we need to or want to.

That rules out a park model trailer.

Look at a Destination Trailer, they can be closed up for travel. One brand listed below but there are others.

Park models and destination trailers are just larger trailers for stationery placement. They aren't for moving around often since they would require more than a pickup truck.
You can visit any RV manufacturers website and find these types of trailers.
They are basically smaller mobile homes.

I wonder how much those cost to have moved. I couldn't see having a truck big enough to tow it if my intention was to just leave it somewhere all year.

Gotta be cheaper than buying and maintaining a truck. Even if you moved it every year!

You find other park model owners if you do a search. The Cedar Creek Cottage park models are popular.

We came to Arizona for the winters in a 5th wheel. We started at a resort that after 6 months for the winter, we could leave it the whole year for about the same price. There is a option to stay 2-4 months on a lot and then put in storage on site for the rest of the year for $500-800 / yr.
In the end we bought a 399 sq ft park model with a 400 sq ft addition that is permanent on a lot. Now the 5th wheel heads north for the summer.

We buy all our RVs online, long distance. This day and age you have so many options to view anything you want in realtime via facetime, zoom, or similar app. We have had salesmen do an online session with us that lasted over an hour while he demonstrated everything worked and showed us anything we directed him to show us.
Just an option if you want to buy an inplace park model. We have seen some pretty good deals to buy one already in place. Lots less trouble also.
