I saw some pictures on one of the forums where a point was being made that long term parking with a piece of plywood under the tires was better than directly on cement or concrete. What's that about???

It has something to do with breakdown of the rubber. If you take a tire that has been on concrete for a while there is the black stain. it pulls something out of the tire. I don't know exactly what it is. It's like leaving batteries on concrete with the draining issue.
