Another +1 for the Sharkbite fittings. We just renovated a 1959 house that is plumbed in copper. We added a bathroom which we plumbed in Pex. We actually crimped all of the new water lines together. However, where we spliced into the original plumbing, we used Sharkbites since pex, copper and CPVC are all the same dimensions and the Sharkbites will work on all three. Since then I've had one copper tee blowout and that section was replaced with Sharkbites and Pex. It costs considerably more for the Sharkbites, but the convenience is worth it.
