So my question is how come so few members post pictures of their travels? No, I’m not talking about your campsite, your rig, or your tow vehicle. With all the serious camera equipment mentioned in this thread how come you don’t post photos when you return from the trips you take?

I don't because I know that my pictures really only mean something to me. I could post a thousand pictures of mountains, lakes, various campgrounds and other sights from my travels but I know that nobody besides myself really cares.

However, I do get alot of positive feedback from my astronomy photos but those aren't really related to camping so I seldom post them here unless someone asks a general photography question like the OP did.

Perhaps we should see about setting up folders for each National Park (or other area of camper interest) so that folks could post their scenery pics without having to type too much text for explanation? Could auto resized to limit disk consumption? These would all go to some area of the current gallery.

Do you not have a few that are really good? Good enough that most folks would say nice pic?

I shoot with a Canon 80d. Use a 11 to 16mm or 17 to 50 Sigma lens mostly.

I have over 35,000 photos from all my hikes, camping and trips. I post to Insta gram and FB once and a while but other than that just shown to family.

EDIT: Forgot my Nisi filters and Lee filters.

So if there were specific areas of the gallery to show off photography or just share snapshots, would you be interested in posting there? I do not know if such a thing is even possible. Has to be some interest before we start bugging TPTB.

According to my Lightroom, I've got 43000+ images stored but there are a lot of editing duplicates. Big chunks are family and a few thousand are from the days of film. What few images I post are on Flickr.

Not sure, honestly. I post a few select photos online, what I consider to be some of my best. While I do find it interesting to see where people go and see but I can also see where it would become like your uncle's slide shows... You get 100 photos of the same stuff and a few good shots, the rest just snap shots.

I am by no means a world class photographer, it is just my way to decompress (maybe that's why I mostly shoot landscape while alone, hmm). But I am not so sure anyone really cares about my work (or a least would want to see it).

Some of mine are inappropriate for this forum. Some are just personal interests, a lot are trial and error shots.
I will tease you with a couple of favorites from Fort McAllister Richmond Hill GA. These are SOOC shots I am not a big fan of lightroom apps.Click image for larger version

I went digging for this one. This was a challenge, way too bright, light coming from the wrong direction and it was the only angle I could get. This eagle was enjoying the beach. Big Stone Beach, Delaware, tent camping. Click image for larger version

I have a Canon 70D. My main lens is the 18-135 that came with it. I also have a Tokina 12-24 F4 for landscapes and a 70-200 F2.8 for zoom shots. Here is one of my favorites from North Idaho.

South Meadows Campground just north of Woodland Park, Co...there's an open valley behind the campground along Trout Creek, just walked out in middle of night and setup tripod and shot for 25 sec exposure....
