Portable Clothes Washer - Recommendations

We are planning a month-long trip to the western US and looking for a recommendation for portable clothes washer. We have a 2021 Mirada, 29', so no space to install a washer/dryer. My wife prefers to have our own washer. We've looked on Amazon and found some possibilities: Wonderwash, Mini Washing Machine, Lavario. Has anyone used any of these or others or other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

You might give some consideration to using a 5 gallon bucket and washboard no joke intended it works and cost very little.

I agree with SeaDog, but I'd probably hand wash the clothes in the sink. I've looked at the portable washers and basically, it's water, soap and agitation. They have a very limited capacity.
I would think a bigger problem would be drying the clothes. Most rv parks won't let you dry them outside and drying them inside is going to add a lot of humidity to the rig. A dehumidifier would help keep down the moisture and would probably help dry the clothes faster.

Ive never used the portable Washer but I have seen others and it did work eh minimally. Drying will be your challenge. Some RV Parks discourage hanging clothes on a line.
I actually use at times a 5 gallon bucket with a washboard little soap. that may in the long run be your best bet

Thanks to all. Agree that drying is the biggest problem, even if the portable has a spin drying capability. Appreciate the suggestions!

Washer

We used a 5 gallon bucket and Woolite packages. Dung things to drip dry in the shower and then over furnace floor vent to finish drying.

Do they really forbid it? We have a permanent clothesline where the Cherokee is sited. We put the golf-cart cover on it when it's wet, towels, and whatever else. Management has never said a word.

We also have a travelling pulley on it and use it as a dog trolley when there are no clothes on it.

Most of the rv parks we've visited have a prohibition on hanging clothes outside. They specifically have it on their welcome handout.
Perhaps because you have a permanent site the rules are different.

I'm sure you meant "hung and not dung" kind of two different things LOL

Love having a portable electric washer (gravity drain) use it in the shower pan, plug in outside the shower, fill with the shower wand and temp needed. Worked well enough to clean an entire mud caked outfit, pulled into site after dark, slipped on the wet grass, landed in a 4" deep mud combo water puddle. Light ankle sprain, sore knee, then had to finish setting up covered in the wet mud. Next morning, washed all my clothing, all the mud came out and I dried it on a rack in front of the fireplace. Then a trip to the carwash in town to clean the cab of my truck, unforgettable. So glad I had that portable washer along! Cost me about $80 from CW, but Amazon and Walmart have'm,too.

We have one of the $89 mini washers and the wife loves it. It spin dries fairly well and we dry using telescoping clothes hanging bar in the shower which is 4 feet x 32 inches.

We have one and have found it very useful. Capacity is not large but it wasjes well and spin drys impressively well. Beats the heck out of going to the campground laundry with 5 lbs of quarters. We hand the stuff in the shower and run the fan during the day - at the end of which all is dry.

I should mention that while the washing is going on, we are sitting at or in the TT, generally enjoying a beverage. Avoiding a crowded laundry is even more important in these Covid days.

Our Washing Solution

We have a portable washer from Amazon and totally love it! We have a 2020 Sunseeker and we keep it in the shower, use the shower head to fill it, leave it in the shower for the gravity drain, hang the clothes on a tension shower rod inside the shower, and have never had any humidity problems inside the motor home when drying the clothes....fill to wash, drain, fill to rinse, drain, and spin to almost dry for hanging. We use a milk crate for detergent, fabric softner, stain stick, etc. that fits in an outside bin for easy access. Having been to some CG laundry facilities that are always busy, or ones that are totally disgusting to use - this has been a great investment for us. Good luck with your purchase

Look into Haier brand. We got a small portable at Menards and my wife loves it. We installed our in the washer dryer bay in our 5ver, but we've seen people set theirs up out side.

With all the posts about shower pan leaks/cracks and shower drain pipes coming loose/busting off from poor/no support of the pan, it will be interesting to see what happens down the road a bit from all those using a vibrating machine in their shower. [emoji54]
