portable fire pit that won't scorch grass or pavers

Hi!
We are going to an "RV Resort" that does not have firepits. One must bring one's own. They are very strict about not scorching their grass or pavers. If you scorch grass or pavers, there is a big fee to repair/replace. So...is there a portable firepit/fire ring that is elevated and will not scorch their grass or pavers and is easy enough to transport in a reasonable amount of space? thank you!!

My Outland fire bowl does not even get warm beneath it. I use it on our RV plastic mat without any issues. Propane of course.

Same as NJKris, I have a random propane firepit from Amazon (about $100) and it doesn't get hot underneath of it. We've sat ours on a plastic RV patio mat, too.

Same with friends of ours (who actually inspired me to try it).

I love mine as well, for the same reasons. As a bonus, my wife can sit by the fire with me without having the smoke chase her around.

Every home center sells them. I use one on a patio once in awhile.

A fire pan is required on designated wild and scenic rivers. A steel pan designed to change old oil into would work. That is what we used on bare soil. In a fancy resort, you would want to support the pan with some bricks.

X2...We love our Outlander. We use it more and more rather than wood fires.

Also, propane fire pits are usually allowed out west during fire bans. Usually.

Ours has little legs and to my knowledge has never affected the underlying surface. I guess one could get a small heatproof mat to be extra certain not to scorch their grass/pavers...

With the woods on fire due to neglect, fires are often not allowed in the West in the warmer months. I have thought of a propane fire bowl. I went on a trail ride once where a guy always had one. Odd at first, but then it seemed okay.

Even nicer when we put it inside the Clam screen tent. With the sides up (with air gaps for safety), you can usually sit in there without a jacket in the coldest of temperatures that we've been in (down to the low 40s).

(Note: do this at your own risk- a burning tent is nothing to take lightly.)

I just got the CLAM. Nice idea ependydad. In a normal tent I would never consider doing this, but the center of the CLAM roof is so high, I doubt it would even get warm. I got a pack of 3 sidewalls to block wind too, so even with 3 walls up, plenty of ventilation.

Friends were concerned about the long-term effects on the tent material right at the top. Heat definitely collects up there. When seated, you could reach up above your head and feel the hotter air.

Like I said, we were comfortable with the risks - your mileage may vary.

Well, you can always turn fire down a bit too. Another great propane fire advantage. I had mine on high under canopy. Without walls, I held arm over fire at about 6 feet and felt hardly any heat at all on a cold evening.

I like the look of the Outlander and size (19wide x11 tall), can you hook up direct to your motorhome so you don't need a separate propane tank? On their site it looks like the hose is a permanent connection and no mention of it. Thanks in advance

I have the outlander as well and I simply change the hose to a quick connect hose if I want to run off the RV tanks. There is no regulator needed in the quick connect hookup to the RV as your RV regulator provides the needed flow of propane.

I use the 21 inch Outland portable fire bowl. I got mine at Costco Canada for $129 cdn. I also bought the natural gas conversion and use it at home as well. It only take a few minutes to convert it once you have done it a few times. It goes through a fair amount of propane so I like it for both uses. It doesn’t get that hot on the bottom so I doubt it would leave a mark on any surface.
