I guess it would depend on many variables, but if you could write it so the blower cycles with the compressor you might be able to get it to run off solar... Say it pulled 2,000 Watts for 15 minutes every hour... How many amp hours would you need to get through the day? And how many watts of panels to recharge each day?
2000 x 3 (45 off and 15 minutes on) = 6000 Watt hours / 12 (volts) = 500 Ah hours, but there is no way it will only run 15 minutes out of every hour in the hot months in the south. Giving up amps that quickly will raise the necessity of how many Ah of batteries you will need by a factor of about 33 to 50%. The 1000Ah that it looks like it would take is really more like 1500Ah. That would be about 12 golf cart batteries wired series / parallel or 14 to be sure of having enough. 12 of those batteries would weigh about 780#... 800# with #4/0 cables. This alone would drive the person trying to prove everyone wrong to a Lifepo4 system. In fact, the only way to do it IMO.

Like epenydad said, running AC from an inverter isn't practical. I see practical options as 1, go to a campground and plug in. 2, get a generator and be in those places that allow them no matter how annoying it is to your neighbors, 3) get a motel room. Or 4) spend lots of money to prove us all wrong ... or right.

Agreed. IMO, the only possible way is using LiFePo4 lithium batteries and even that would be frightfully expensive.

I suppose there is better things to spend money on than $6000 on batteries that you really don't need I follow technomadia, here they are discussing running ac on batteries, several years back.

Not with lithium. I have 400Ah of usable batteries (4 x 100Ah Battle Born drop-ins). Total battery weight is ~120 lbs.

I hope the pricing on those comes down soon... You can but a lot of gas for the generator for what they cost.
But I really like solar, don't want to listen to a generator running all day

Hi,

Last year at Quartzite, one fellow in a BLM area had brought 4,500 watts in a tow-behind trailer.

Wish I had spent time talking to him about what he could run, and how he did it.

FWIW.

I'm working on building a small nuclear plant... It'll be cheaper than lithium and lighter than lead acid

Not overkill, W. Perfect... wire gauge and fuse size. if you ever want to use all 300+ watts you can't run it on either the 12 gauge clips nor the 14 gauge cigarette lead.

I think I saw a photo of this trailer somewhere. He is kind'a using the panels for sun shades. He could power the city of Hazard Kentucky with that thing.
