Been reading on the forum about the need for power protecting, they ain't cheap. Imagine they could pay for themselves. I'm a new rv owner with a lot to learn. Trying to get everything I need for a three week trip to south dakoda in June. Re the power protection, I see they have hard wire and portable. Leaning toward a portable with voltage protection. Still in the $300 range. ????
I have the portable 30 amp Surge Guard. I would not plug in without it. It automatically shuts power off if the voltage is too high or low or if pedestal is wired wrong.
Yes they could pay for themselves if the wrong conditions occure. Imagine what it would cost to repair/replace all your on board electronics - furnace, hot water heater, fridge, AC unit, tv, etc. They're cheap insurance actually.
