probable Brophy scissor step purchase

On a NY to SC/FL/GA trip and we lost the use of our steps into our 5th wheel (longer, user-driving-error story) so we've been using picnic tables for entry. SWMBO kinda likes not stepping out directly onto stairs - sorta like have a small deck.

Did some looking around and discounted the free-standing deck/stairs combo (don't wanna spend that much and requires too much storage - I know, there's no free lunch). Discounted the drawbridge style steps because I think I wanna make an enlarged first step that will function as a mini-deck (compromise solution).

I didn't see much here on Brophy scissor steps but their steps attach to the RV my slipping onto a brace that you mount on the RV (so no foldaway storage like the original 3-step model). And you can get an additional brace.

My thought is to attach the maybe 24" x 24" homemade platform to the RV using their brace, putting the extra brace on the other side of the platform for the steps to attach to, and supporting the distal end of the platform with two aluminum telescoping legs.

Ok so this was what I was thinking instead of sleeping at 3:30am but it was a feasibility study and I think it's worth checking into some more, hence posting here for thought/concerns/obfuscations.
