Prodity P3 off

Is there a way to power this off when not in use other then to unplug it?

Not necessary, unless you are going to leave the vehicle parked for 6 months at a time. The rest of your vehicle computers draw way more current than the Prodigy. I measured mine at 20 milli amps, that is .020 amps. Modern vehicles draw about a .5 amps, slightly less depending on options. A modern Cadillac battery won't last 30 days without recharging. As long as you drive the vehicle at least once per week, don't worry about it.

Doesn't the P3 power down after 15 minutes?

It goes to sleep. On a few occasions mine has failed to power back up if I haven't had a trailer hooked up for awhile and I had to unplug it and wait a few seconds and replug it to reset it.
