Hello. Can so.e o e tell me a step I may be missing? We are new to RV world. Have a 2011 berkshire forest river. We turned on the 1/2 full propane tank but nothing is flowing to the stove. What am I missing

Is it flowing to other appliances? Water heater, fridge or furnace?

Sometimes you just have to open the valve slowly

may be air in the lines. It will take a few minutes with the burner on to purge the air out. Use the lighter every few seconds for when the gas gets to the burner. You should also be able to smell the propane when it starts to flow at the burner.

How long did you wait? If lines were empty, it may take a minute or so to purge the air.

The first thing I'd do is try a different tank. I had one where the OPD malfunctioned and shut off the gas.

I can not use another tank. This one is huge and installed directly on the rig

This replacement alarm could be the problem. The alarm cuts off propane flow in some motorhomes. Hold on let me get you more information

OK the issue is the new alarm. The old one was connected to a solenoid that shut off the propane if it was not operating or detected propane, You need one with 4 wires that is designed for a system with a solenoid

You can unscrew the regulator assembly from the tank and it will attach directly to a BBQ tank. That's what I had to do on mine until I got the tank fixed.
Also, are you relying on an electronic or mechanical gage to read the amount in the tank?
Mine was showing full, even tho I knew it wasn't. And when the OPD failed, I could not add LP to the tank, either.
