Propane Accessories

[Round Two]

Hello All. We have a new to us 2014 FR Sunseeker 2500. It has an access connection to the propane tank for propane accessories (like a grill) via a quick connect hose. We purchased a propane fire pit and wanted to run it from the on-board propane tank via the access connection. The fire pit has a connection that will fit a traditional, portable propane tank but it does not match up to the quick connect hose that came with our rig. So, I am thinking some type of adapter will make these 2 fit or even a new hose, but my quick search of Amazon is not yielding any results that make sense to me (had to add those last few words!) Any one else have a similar issue? Solutions? Any help is appreciated with sourcing options, if possible. Pics uploaded sideways but I think you can still get the idea.

That looks like a regulator hose that is supposed to be screwed on to a tank and then has a quick connect end (the end you have hooked to your rig). You need to take your fire pit and hose down to a propane supplier and they can get you the correct quick connect hose that will plug into your rig and connect to the fire pit.

What you may find out, is that with these propane quick connects, is that they are for low pressure propane grills and such. The propane pressure has been regulated by a built in regulator in the RV before going to the quick connect.



When you try to connect a propane grill (or similar) that has it's own pressure regulator, then it will not function correct as it is being double-regulated (by the RV's regulator and it's own regulator). We have many threads on this. I see a regulator on the fire pit hose.

I removed the pit end of the hose from mine (the regulator end was crimped) and put a quick connect on the end of another hose (I think I already had that hose). The forum discussion referred to above refers to this; works great. Just use some water/soap in a spray bottle to check for leaks on your fittings, and make sure your fittings are the right ones to match up. I think you can get everything you need on Amazon. Be aware that Menards carries a Buddy Heater quick connect that looks like the one that is on your RV but is not the same.

Modified ours with a female flare swivel union and flare to FPT and inserted a male QD connector for use on the low pressure system with CAMCO 57282 propane hoses.
