Take him to the vet and ask if he might be a particular breed of some sort. If he is, then there is likely some "breed X rescue" group that you can Google for. They will come and get the critter for free and make sure he's taken care of.

Also, local papers will often run pet lost and found ads for free. Sometimes "free to good home" ads are free too, and you can judge the character of the adoptees yourself.

Just some thoughts.

round here for some reason folks think its the cat and dog dropp off point for the county, just because we are way out in the sticks. our county doesnt even have an aspca place or shelter. i have to drive 30 miles to get to one.
hopefully a lead i have in ct will take him, we are figuring out passports and plane tickets right now.

Well after posting him on craiglist and taking him to target rich enviroments.
I just couldnt let him go, I think i was to picky with some of the candidate homes. My gut has kept me awake for several nights, getting meloncoly in my old age i guess.

so we now have a new puppy "peanut" to join us rving and being a member of the family.

Good call.
I'd have kept him too. He's a good looking puppy.

It would have been difficult for me to give him up too. I'm glad you decided to let him join your family because I can tell he will now be cared for properly. You get a gold star.

This morning it hit me.
I had forgotten the certain aroma that comes with a baby dog.
between puppy breath and the permeation of my jacket by his little pup smell, IT just Wont wash off
but he sure is happy

like a proud parent i could fill pages of pics of my pups and grandkids

he is really a good pup, ocassionally he tries to mis-behave, but then he doesnt do so bad.
he is the reason i cant get out of bed till 9 or 10, if my wife takes him out in the morning, he feels its his duty to jump on the end of the bed and hold my feet down and rest
