Quality RV

Sort of a off topic question. What was the last year they were making quality RV's ? Thinking 2010

I have a 2012 that has been better then most on here. Only been back to the factory twice, one for delam. and one bad weld at the slide, cracked the outside. Fixed in a week. Other then that, put over 80000 miles on it so far!

This question is sure to be jumped on by folks that have an experience. IMHO there is no good answer to your question.

When you say "they" are you referring to a specific brand or in general?

Since this is one of your first questions. Be ready for a lot of responses that will leave you with an uneasy feeling about the question. Keep reading here and elsewhere.

Seriously in my experience they are actually getting better......... our current camper a 2013 quality wise is much better than our 1973, 1988 and 2006..........

Since we bought the 2013 in June of 2012 we have had no major issues just a few cosmetic things.

Let's see... I have been camping since I was 10. First in a tent, then in 1972 a van, and then a few truck campers and moved to Class A's in 2002, both gassers and diesels. I have found them all to have problems, sometimes minor and a few major ones. In each case, my problems were promptly handled and fixed.

I am concerned with the quality of products that RV Manufacturers are now using. I understand that they are trying to keep the cost factor down, but at what, and whose, expense. Only time will tell what my 2017 Sunseeker will be like in 10 years from now. I know that my first Class A is still up and running well (I sold it to my brother-in-law), and it's 15 years old!

They still make a quality RV but there's a good chance it costs more than you want to pay.

I've only had 3 pop-ups - 1986 Coachmen (slightly used), 2000 Coleman, 2014 Rockwood A-frame. The latter is probably the best of the bunch, but that's not saying anything. All had shoddy joiner work, cheap junk cabinetry, saw dust from the build, plastic plumbing fixtures.

But the A-frame is the most reliable of the 3. The roof panels fit properly, the windows are decently sealed, and there are no known leaks. The A-frame also came with more goodies (microwave, air conditioning, dual propane tanks) that the others did not have. And the A-frame was the cheapest after taking inflation into account.

Well, since this is my first RV and since it is a 2016 and since I have had no major issues with it I would have to say 2016!!

Had a few little things go wrong in the first year when we first bought our 2011 831RLBSS. Been fine ever since. It's been towed (literally) from the west coast to the east coast a couple times.

Oh wait, it needed a new battery and a touch of brake work this year. I guess that might count as a "problem".

Quality is a relative term for me. There's the appearance of quality, the proven reliability of quality, the wife's impression of quality, etc.

I have no illusions though; my Flagstaff 831 is nice looking, a great place to spend some quiet time and tows well, but it sure doesn't give you that "I'm going to last forever" feeling.....

I'm pretty fastidious with maintenance though (greasing bearings when on a trip, inspecting/sealing roof every few months, winterizing, cleaning, tires, etc, etc), maybe that has something to do with my trailer being relatively trouble free.....
