rear fold downcargo carrier

I have 2014 Greywolf 26DBH. It has the rear fold down cargo carrier. It has a vertical pole the attaches to the rear of the carrier when it's folded down.

How do you folks tie down bikes to these carriers?

Glad you asked this question. I've been wondering that myself.

When our grandson comes with us we take his bike along. I bungeed it to the pole, but I didn't feel it was the securest setup.

I tied 4 back there to the pole but by the time I made it home the front wheel of the bike next to the pole was hanging off the back of the rack. I was wondering someone makes something to fasten the wheels to the bottom of the carrier.

I use bungees and one ratchet strap, and a bungee through the tires and down to the rack base.

I use these twist ties to secure the wheels to the cargo rack and then rubber bungees for the back frames.

Cool...just saw those at Home Depot the other day.

At the time I thought to myself, I bet those would come in handy for something. Now I know......I'll have to grab some.

We bought a couple sets of fork blocks and I mounted those to the fold down rack. Might take a little bit of effort to remove the front tires every time we get ready to go, but they are solid as a rock once I have them mounted.

I put 3 bikes on the rack and I mount one on the ladder, although I'm not overly thrilled about hanging one bike off of the ladder.
