Recommendations for how to find campgrounds

Looking to travel from MD to Florida for a few weeks in Jan or Feb. What is the best resource to find the type campgrounds we would like. We have a travel trailor BTW. Ultimately looking for a nice beach campground in central or southern Florida for the bulk of the trip. West Coast preferred but not mandatory.

We have been using Campground Reviews for a number of years with good results. With their large database of campgrounds in any given area the hardest part is deciding which one to choose.

Florida can be very busy during the winter. Many get their reservations early.

After deciding on a campground from one of the guides I take a look at it from a satellite view to check the layout.

I use the Park Advisor app to locate the CGs in the area(s) I'm traveling to, and then look for reviews here or on other sites to evaluate them.

We live in Florida, and it is nearly impossible for us to get ocean area sites during snowbird season. Inland nice campgrounds are just a little easier to get.

Most of the parks I've tried to get into with full amenities on the left coast of Florida are booked solid by this time of year with campers who will book for AT LEAST 3 months. I managed to get in to one place a month or two ago with only 1 month reservation if I took a premium site. If you aren't too demanding about amenities and get a bit back from the water you may have more luck... but I wouldn't head down there after Xmas without firm reservations along your route.
I totally agree that CampgroundReviews is the bast source for parks information and the companion subscription to RVTripWizard.com is the best way to plan a route and a trip. Try the latter on a free trial and see how the two work together.

We use RV Trip Wizard it has a lot of features and ties into Campsite Review. There is a free trial page where you can see the features w/o giving any info. Some of the features we like are, you can send your itinerary to family, set daily mileage limits, and driving preferences( RV height, tollway or highway etc). It produces a spreadsheet of parks and points of interest that can be sent to phone or printed w/ all addresses and phone numbers. Drawbacks, $49 a year and they keep adding features {Improvements} which have to be learned, making it more difficult to use.
We usually take 2 month trips 5k miles w/ multiple stops, worth it for us.

I have used campground reviews and GoodSam for mapping but now Campground Reviews is connected with RV Trip Wizard. I really like using those two together. I start with creating a trip map then find campsites along the way. We spend January in Florida. I start planning in the February before and still rarely get what I really want in Florida! Last January I had a nice spot in Seminole, Florida. We couldn't get it this year. Last year we pieced together three reservations to get five nights at Gamble Rogers. We couldn't get anything this year. I do have a couple of hard to get state parks for this coming January but managed to get those many months ago. You're best bet is to map a route more inland. We have a second city park in the Orlando area this year. Last year we stayed in Magnolia Park in Apopka. We enjoy running, kayaking, and biking. I'm glad we weren't afraid to try an unknown. It was perfect for us! Don't be afraid to take what you can get. Those usually turn out to be great for us because we have no expectations. We find things we didn't know we were looking for!

I like the RVParky app. Also we have a seasonal site at Bryn Mawr Ocean Resort in St. Augustine Beach. Right on the ocean. Might not be south enough for you but great location.

We use the RV Parky app. It works great and has reviews of the campgrounds, amenities, etc.

As you can see, many folks use various search options.

We have found no ONE app/website lists them all definitively.
We use a lot of different ones (most all listed previously) and then CALL if we find something promising as their online reservations/information is often incorrect/outdated.
