Question Registrations, sooner or later.

The couple we try to camp with has been scheduling all summer with reservations starting in Jan or that year. We can’t plan tomorrow let alone 5-7 mths ahead. I find myself very aggravated by this.
Does anyone else deal with this? And how?

Scheduling in advance give you something to look forward to.
Schedule 6 trips in February for the season and it was great planning and go on every trip.
No scrambling or quick planning.

Most places I camp you are not getting in for a holiday weekend if you don't plan 6 months to a year ahead. I have a set work schedule and have no problems making plans.

For public CGs, it's very difficult to camp around here (CO) without reservations far, far in advance. I book my Memorial Day weekend trip in November.

More remote areas of the state are easier to book than those closer to the I-25 corridor. But, even remote can be hard to book.

I guess you have to decide if you really want to camp with those other folks. If so, you may have to reserve with them. You can usually get all but $9 back out of your reservation, I think (again, public CGs).

I schedule all of my trips every year with some scheduling starting in Sept. of the previous year we want to travel in. Such as we are planning are annual trip to South Haven MI for next year. We bring the entire family up to MI about 13 of us and we need to make reservation in Sept of this year.

I than start to plan all of our trips we take by ourselves in Jan/Feb and make the reservation that are needed for that year. We keep a calendar and write down everything that will occur for that year on the calendar. We even budget most of our traveling expenses such as fuel cost and camping fees so, we now know much we are spending for that year.

I have noticed since the camping boom in the last couple of years, at least one month for non-holiday and 6 months min for holiday week-ends.

If you want to stay at FL state parks, you have to reserve 11months in advance,or get lucky.

We travel every winter from 1 Nov to 1 May. I spend the spring, summer and fall making all of our reservations. I would never leave home without reservations. CGs can be 3, 6, or 12 months in advance for reservations. The peace of mind is worth it.

I grew up near Albany. I'm sure you want to get out of there for the winter!

The most times we schedule far in advance is when we're planning to visit places and at times we know are crowded. We like to remain flexible when on the road, so we usually hold off on booking until a day or 2 before our planned arrival in an area. We've always managed to find a decent campground with vacancies. Your situation is a bit different since you're trying to coordinate with someone else. In that situation I would book well in advance to make sure we can find a spot at the same park where the other couple is staying.

Don't know what the situation is in the east, but for AK, YT, BC and the Pacific Northwest you need to start making reservations 9 months out or you will find very few vacancies for decent CG's. Nature of the beast!

Great! Now YOU can own a C G and we can call you for reservations. No need to let all that land go to waste.
Post here when the utilities are in.

Hope to be adding an additional 9-10 acres soon. Got electrician coming this weekend to look at panel...want to upgrade to 200A. Got a 26x28 pad right next to a yard hydrant, 1000 gal septic tank. All I need to do is put in a dump pipe and run a line out to pad and put up a 30/50A pedestal.

"NOTE" Shouldn't the TITLE be "Reservations...sooner or later" and not "Registrations" ???
