Google act*active-network and count the number of times you see the word "SCAM".

Then check out Active America LLC or whatever the F____ they call themselves with the Better Business Bureau. You will find they are not accredited.

It's not just Reserve America that they are affiliated with. They make reservations for sporting events and a host of other things.

it's not an affiliation. Reserve America is an Active Network page. It's all one company. Active Network is a software company. Reserve America is one of there products.

Google

Just Google "act*active-network"
Looks like a scam to me and many others.

I get it. They are performing crooked practices. But it's not one company selling stuff off to another. Reserve America is Active Networks baby. I think they got you awhile ago, and you just caught it. I remember seeing the stuff often a couple years ago, but I haven't seen it for a long time.

That was my thought, too. What exactly are they giving you for your $64.95? (Assuming you WANTED to pay them $64.95).

Yea, I got a feeling there's a lot of RVers who use Reserve America have $64.95 sitting on there credit card statement somewhere or even may be paying this fee yearly and not even knowing it. It almost slipped by me. Just trying to bring attention to this. I check my credit card charges online but I see charges and think it's something my wife bought. It's easy to let a scam like this sneak by.

good you brought it to light. Hopefully it will save someone. I'm sure plenty have paid for it more than once and not known. Like I said, I remember them trying to sneak it through a couple years ago, but can't remember what you got for that cost.

Some sort of alleged hotel discounts. Very shady

They got me yesterday, look at the original post. Capital one called me today. BTW, this isn't the first time this has come up on this forum.

You should definitely sign up for text notices on your cell phone. I have
Capital one text me any time a charge over a certain amount goes thru.
You can set any amount you choose as the threshold for the auto text.

Yup! Completely aggravating and if I remember right, the last time this came up we figured out that it depends on what state you are in as to what "scam" they try to peddle off!

But I could be wrong on that, it has happened before I am told

I don't remember seeing this when using the site, I wonder if it has something to do with ad blocking whether you see it or not.

We are all so electronically connected these days you have to stay on top of all your credit card receipts. I do't use the service in question, but have gotten charges I never made. I go thru my CC bills line by line each month and use PayPal when I can. Thanks for the heads up TooTall

I am going to do that today with my threshold as $0, ha. Thanks for the tip. Great tip.

I'm thinking you might have saved some peoples' aggravation and gnashing of teeth which may be worth more than $64.95. Thx.

I got snagged by these scumbags a few years ago. There was a box at the very bottom of the page that was checked by default. This had the effect of signing you up for their "benefits" unless you removed the check mark. The check mark was well below the payment button. I really despise this company and its practices.

I would suggest that anyone that gets pegged by any additional charges when using Reserve America contact the state parks department for the state where the reservations were made. That state's attorney general's office should also be notified of Active/Reserve America's practice. I know a few years back New York State residents had some problems with RA and a whole bunch of heat was brought on them by various state politicians which forced some changes, I believe, in their way of doing business on behalf of NYS Parks. This was before I became a camper so my direct knowledge is a bit sketchy.

I do watch out for the magazine subscription check box every time I use Reserve America too. My B.I.L. got nailed on this trick couple years back.
