RV Inspection

There's a lot of talk about quality lately, and tis the season for a lot of new campers to be showing defects after delivery. Been reading about them today and some of them were heartbreaking stories IMO.

Anyway, here's an RV Inspection Checklist I found on line that may help some buyers (especially newbies). I like this one b/c it includes a list of items to take along.

Remember: Don't take delivery unless it's perfect. It can't predict what will break, but you won't miss an area not calked, or a slide that doesn't slide out, or microwave that doesn't work, etc.

Good luck and happy camping.
RV Inspection Checklist.

Good advice about holding off on taking delivery especially if there are serious problems or issues. After reading many posts here on the forum it seems that once the RV is off the dealer's lot it becomes a lower priorty to get taken care of.

That list is awesome! Saved to my hard drive.

I just bought a new Salem 221RBXL this last fall and have used it twice this year, and I like it. I knew I was only going to have it a couple years and know I want a toy hauler (HFS27 at this point). This checklist is the bomb and like Wiscampsin noted, it tells what to bring. I'm going through my next rig with a fine tooth comb. Not that I have had any real problems with the one I have.

Thanks camperz!

Thanks Gregg! I imagine, plan on a 9-5 inspection, breaking for lunch.

Probably not 9 to 5, but definitely not over lunch hour (when ever that is). Gotta eat!

Like you noted in your OP about quality concerns, you need to do your own inspections, via a checklist, and make sure all is well before you sign on the dotted line.

Things can still go wrong but you did your best to find most construction errors.
