RV Market Status

I am attempting to sell our 2016 Coachmen Freelander 20 CB RV. I am getting a lot of inquiries but no firm offers. We are in Columbus, Ohio
My question is, what is happening in the market? Is it slowing down, bottom dropping out or a temporary pause due to the July 4 holiday.
Would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks

Market

From a dealers view.

The market is back to the 2019 level of demand. (2019 was a high water marke year) Plenty of buyers but not crazy like it was. Typically if you are selling anything and getting interest but no sale, providing the condition is what it should be, it means the price is high for your market.

Good luck selling your unit.

There is more evidence of late that the shortage of new RVs is beginning to shift. That’s good news for consumers ready to buy but could spell trouble for RV dealers and manufacturers.

Saw a post that RV sales have declined over 30%, through March, April and May. These normally are the peak RV buying months.

Not to Hi- Jack a thread, however where is a good place to sell a Travel Trailer?
And how would I go about creating an asking price?
I looked at NADA book value it it seems kinda high.
I just posted ours on CL.

Thanks.

This forum has a classified section, Facebook market. Find a local dealership willing to do consignment.

I was going to try and sell on here but they want you to download a new browser and I'm not doing that.
I'll check out FB.

Thanks

and as always Location, Location, Location......... Price and Demand............ some areas the market has slowed, some not as much........... If simular campers are available and priced cheaper, guess which will sell first...

Too many variables.

My area very few expensive campers sell, but lower end campers sell fast.....

But I do believe that the market has slowed.......... Not as many campers are sold before they hit the lots so the lots are starting to fill.

Looming recession, high interest rates, fuel costs, inflation are softening the demand for discretionary purchases.
Lower the price if you want to sell a RV.
It's already happening to real estate.

RV Market in Central Ohio

Got a sense of the market in central Ohio yesterday. Drove by RVD RV in I70 in Pataskala Ohio. Last winter their lot was almost empty. Now it is overflowing with every type of RV. You can see the impact of the hike in interest rates. Time to buy if you have cash.

It’s not just the RV market. Open Realtor.com and look at house prices. The vast majority have a down arrow by their price which indicates a price drop. Everyone is chasing each other to the bottom. It’s going to get worse as folks close their wallet.

If you are looking to sell your rv or your house the opportunity is closed or very near closed for getting an above average sales price…JMHO…

I'm just starting to look at selling my 2014 Sunseeker 3170DS. Some dealers have this model year and similar mileage listed at $68,000. Lowest I saw advertised was around $58,000. Camping world offered me $36,000. Now, I recognize that they need to make a profit, but I expected a better offer than that.

I plan to list it on RVTrader and here this week. Any other dealerships in the greater North Carolina area I should try for a quick sale or on consignment? I think it should sell in the low $50s right now to a private buyer but I'm open to reasonable offers.

I am told that the prices on FB are fake and that units always sell for significantly less than the asking price. However, FB Marketplace has a lot of subscribers. Good luck!

Not to mention.... it's getting close to the end of camping season.
Schools here in Houston are already back in session.

I sold my TT last month. Listed it on RVTrader for ~$165. It sat for a week or so and I never got one call or email. Listed it on Craigslist for $5. Got a half dozen calls the first week and sold it in less than two weeks to the first person that came and actually looked at it. Local dealer offered me $9K (and said that was "pushing it"). I asked $18K for it on both sites and accepted $17K, which is more than I paid for it when new.

Shoot, sorry I didn’t see it on Craig’s List, I would have scooped it up for $5,
