RV semi permanent cover

Ok so we are going to finally get to store our RV at our home. I am looking for a semi permanent type structure to park it in. I assume like a aluminum structure frame with canvas roof and sides. 35 foot RV.

Anyone have any idea where I shop for something like that? About how much it would cost? Pics of yours would be helpful.

I would never go with the canvas cover.
If you have any wind at all I doubt the canvas will last a year.
Newer metal ones are better but you need to bolt them to a solid foundation.

Would a pole barn work for you?

Ok I would have to do something more narrow. Then could I have like canvas roll down side panels or something to make it all covered?

Yes we are thinking of adding three more feet down the sides. I know someone that has added something like solar cloth to all sides of his. This is an Eagle carport.

Not sure how many are close to you, but try and find two or three and get a bid war going.

Go online and look at Eagle. We have a couple of places near us so we ordered locally. Ours is rated for 120 mph winds. Luckily we had it last April when horrible hail storm came thru. Totaled our 250 and over 20000 to house. Roof is dented but it is ok for us. There is a guy in town that has his totally enclosed for his MH and not as wide as ours.

Yeah not like that. It will be well protected from the standpoint it will be right along my house and then the neighbor has the same amount of space and then his house. I live in SoCal so when we say RV parking it is really just wide enough for the RV. Basically tract homes with a little extra room on the side.

I bought a used rv carport on Craigslist. I bought tarps and hung them all around to block the sun. I slide the front one back like a shower curtain when we head out on trips.

We just had a 41x20 Metal RV Port built last week. It is the classic style with enclosed back and an extra 3 feet down the sides. Cost was about $4800. The company we bought it from provided the engineering plans because I was required to get a permit. Another company wanted to charge alot more for a certified kit.

Ours is rated 110mph and bolted to concrete slab. I had to have the pad poured first. These guys came right out and put it up in 5 hours on time and did good work..

Check your city and county for permits and restrictions...Just because you have room does not mean they will let you put up a cover..

We bought one for our 24 TT...........5th wheel will not fit under.......

Thinking of extending the legs/poles 2 ft with square alum poles. Would be way cheaper then $2500.00 for another one.

Added on to the bottom?

I would be tempted to go a little longer and double bolt the extensions one from each side about 6 inch's apart and 4 inch's from the top of the extensions.


I agree using the one you have is way cheaper.

We have a friend that has a backhoe tractor. We will use the bucket to lift each side up one at a time. Jim will drill and bolt the extension legs to the original legs. the frame is bolted into the concrete. Maybe harder then we think.

Just be sure to chain things tight but loose enough to maneuver a hair or three.

I don't think you will be able to lift one end at a time to extend the legs. Watching the install of mine the trusses have to be dropped directly on top of the legs or base. If you are at a angle like lifting just one end you will bind up. When I called the installer to have the RV Port at my last house raised four feet they said it had to be taken apart and then reassembled. It was too costly. About 1500$$ to raise a 18x36 ...
