It tickles me when I read about folks that put their rigs in covered or inside storage to protect it from the elements, yet for most people, they have it exposed to all the elements for the better part of the year while camping.

We have a cover for our rig. (We actually have 2 TTs, but the larger is the main rig we use). And we camp significantly more than the actual user (not necessarily the average forum member, though
) at ~60 nights per year. This trailer is going on 4 years old and still looks brand new. In the Texas sun, without a cover, everything is fading and looking rough within a couple years. I would venture that if we keep this rig for 10 years, it will look about on par with the average uncovered 2 year old rig. Another major reason we keep our rig covered is to prevent leaking. When we're in it and camping, if there's a leak there's a good chance we'll see evidence of it and be able to correct it. If it's sitting out- a leak might go undetected for quite a while before being caught and cause significant damage.
