5 die RV at Tenn. biker festival; organizer suspects carbon monoxide poisoning from generator - The Washington Post

Quote:
It appears a small storage hatch on the RV did not close properly, allowing fumes from the generator to leak inside the vehicle, Langford said.
Very sad indeed.

We're camping and going to/from work this week. I was complaining this morning when our carbon monoxide detector kept going off. I was using Downy Wrinkle Release spray and apparently our carbon monoxide detector doesn't like the odor. I'll keep my mouth shut now upon hearing this.

RIP. Prayers go out to the families.

It is a terrible tragedy, but it should remind us to all check our CO detectors and to change the batteries in them.

The nuisance alarms are aggrevating but it's better to be aggrevated by 100 nuisance alarms than to miss one real one.

My heart goes out to the families.

That and apparently a small storage hatch on the RV did not close properly and allowed fumes from the nearby generator to leak inside the trailer.
