safe-t-alert co monitor

Hello, we have a cedar creek 5th wheel and our safe-t-alert (model 25-741) has been going off in the middle of the night. We get 4 beeps and a short pause. The red light next to "CO" is solid on.

We've turned off all propane (closed the valve on the tanks them selves) and bled out any remaining gas.

There are no generators or any engines running.

We are hooked up to 50am electric and the battery disconnect is off (assuming this rules out the 12v battery).

Any reason why the alarm would be going off?

How old is your CO detector? They have a limited lifespan (usually 5 years, possibly less). Some form of the alarm (deferent from model to model) notifies you to replace the detector.

I don’t know that this is your problem. But you should check out the possibility.

Thanks, yeah it's 4 years old. Says it has a life of 5yrs. But it supposed to give a different alarm sequence if it's reached end of life.

Why is the battery disconnect off? Are you using the date on the back of the detector or model yr of RV?

I had similar issue with mine. Found out that it can get "locked" in an alarm mode. Only way to clear was to disconnect power to the unit. On mine it was hardwired to 12v no fuse so I added pin connectors to make removing power easier vs cutting the wire.

You can try that. Mine hasn't had the issue since. It was initially set off by being in my shop and we got an old hot rod engine to finally fire up and it smoked the shop. Had the door open on the MH doing some cleaning/work on it. OOPs bad timing
