Scuba Camping

Any good places not too far from Oklahoma to camp & scuba dive?

We go to The Scuba Ranch in Terrell, TX. Lake Murray and Tenkiller in OK and then Beaver Lake in Arkansas.

Bucket list will be one day to take a couple of weeks to drive to Key West and camp/dive along the way!

I got my scuba certification at Lake Ouachita, Arkansas. It's definitely a tourist destination.

Stop at Manatee Springs S Park near Chiefland FL in the panhandle.

I got certified for open water diving through Scuba Monkey at Manatee Springs. Dove there for 3 days, also pretty much every spring and coastal reef are great dives. Just drive straight to Florida and you'll never run out of options.

This was a camping trip to Manatee, didn't dive this day as just wanted to paddle with my lady. (Dive instructor didn't want us to take pictures during lessons so no dive shots but it's a beautiful sight)

Manatee, Gators and turtles abound.

The full hook-up camp sites are pretty sweet too.

Was going to recommend Beaver Lake in AR but I see that's already on your list. We hit that lake at least once a summer from K.C.
We usually camp at the damsite river campground. It sits right on the river coming out of the dam and has some great views but we're always open to others if you have a better one!

Not a better one, but we stayed at the RV park by the dive shop. It usually has quite a few folk staying there. I think I would like to check your suggestion....sounds pretty!!!

Which dive shop? There are several. We typically use C&J as they are close to the dam. Generally, we dive just across from the dam. Lots of stuff purpose-sunk to check out and always lots of other divers there. Go early in the morning for better vis!
We usually bring some slimjim sticks with us to feed to the fish (they love it!) and have seen some really big bass, walleye, catfish and drum. The sunfish and catfish are the only ones brave enough to actually eat from our hands but the others will come in close to check it out.

It's not the ocean, but it's only a 4 hour drive and a heck of a lot cheaper!

yes, C& J is the shop we use! We have some dive buddies that have added some items to the enchanted forest recently.....
