This was my son-in-laws' view from his camper in the Grand Tetons

For some reason, this pic makes me want to sing "These Hills Are Alive".......

try the Arkansas valley in Colorado!

The Arkansas River valley in Colorado, stretching from the town of Leadville, through Buena Vista, down to Salida offers spectacular views of the Sawatch mountain range. There are quite a number of RV parks in the valley, with many around Buena Vista.

Arkansas River Rim Campground! Five miles North of Buena Vista, Colorado on Highway 24. Views of three 14ers of the Collegiate Peaks:Mount Harvard, Yale, and Princeton to the West and the Buffalo Peaks to the East across the Arkansas River. We have been going there for the last 20 years. Anything from tent sights to full hookups. Great access to the Arkansas River. Close to lots of hiking trails and scenic drives. Arkriverrim.com.

Summit County CO

Check out Tiger Run RV park in Breckenridge
For a more rustic stay try one several forest service campgrounds around Dillon reservoir near Frisco
Sorry I don't have pictures

It's been over 25 years but.......

As I recall there's a KOA Campground in Estes Park Colorado that blew me away with views and access to some fantastic roads (Trail Ridge Road, Peak to Peak Byway) to get even closer.

This campground is not for everyone...

BUT, it IS smack in the middle of the mountains--we stayed here on a trip to CO and we plan on returning when we head out west again next year. Note: Site fees are NOT for the faint of heart (we are staying here for a few days as a treat after several weeks of much more primitive camping (its a rare RV park that has hot tubs with a view )

Mountain view

Mid March in very much still winter in the mountains, lots of snow still and can get much, much more in the month of March which is one of the snowiest months in Colorado. You may want to check on the weather carefully before planning your trip unless winter doesn't bother you. Just saying! 😀

Lake City, Creede, Silverton, Ouray, Pagosa Springs all have campgrounds with great views. Only problem is that a lot of them are closed until mid-April or Mid-May due to snow/weather

Leadville is at 10000 ft. and it is still winter at that elevation until the end of April. I have driven on ice in June over some of the passes. If you are looking for just a distant view, the front range from the east side gives you some respite from pure winter.

Flagg Ranch

We enjoyed Flagg which is located at the North end of the Teton Park and in between it and Yellowstone. Easy access to both, and a sidewise view of the mountains.

Mueller State Park is one of the best state parks in CO. Not full but electricity and great views! Redstone CG has electricity and water. https://goo.gl/photos/difH4at3qCwao9Cs8
