Should Fantastic Fans be covered with a Vent Cover

Wondering if the Fantastic Fans should be covered with a Vent Cover.

Saw one post that said they should not be covered.

What have others done? PROS / CONS

I think all vents should be covered so you can open them in the rain and still get air. I have 3 vents and installed covers on them all. It will also help in the summer when traveling you could leave the vents open and not worry. So I guess I say yes good idea. Very easy installation which is a plus. But that's just MO, maybe others think different...Safe Travels to you. I really do not see any Con to them...

I have mine covered, like being able to use them during a rainy day.

Should Fantastic Fans be covered with a Vent Cover

Was wondering the same thing since I installed a vent cover over mine .
But did you notice he meant the fantastic fan that has auto open/close lid?
I'm pretty sure that's why he said no go, now with that said my lid is remotely controlled with a rain sensor that auto closes it and it has a vent cover over it.

See I think he was talking about the remotely opening lid, which you think would hit the top of vent cover then bind up however it goes up and hits it and stops.
I have max air fan mates and love them.

I used the actual fantastic vent covers, and mine operate automatically on a temp sensor or rain sensor.

Fan-tastic fans can be covered, just use Fan-tastic Vent covers and you will not have any problems. If you check You-Tube there are videos showing how Fan-tastic covers do not cause any drop in air flow while other brands do impede the air flow. I added two 7350 fans with Fan-tastic covers, and the optional snap in bug screens and they work great. See Here for more info on our setup...

I hardly ever turn my fantastic fan on. If it gets hot in camper DW turns on the A/C. We have two A/C plus the fantastic fan.

I put Maxx-Air covers on all 4 vents simply for the rain & UV protection. The Fantastic Fan cover doesn't open 100% but almost...haven't noticed any performance issues yet....

Another reason for having a cover over the vent it allows you to keep the vent open in the winter when you are storing it. That way you get air circulation and prevent mildew from forming.

I have covers on all three roof vents. MaxAir on the two normal exhaust fans and a special one for the Fantastic vent. Camping World sells them for both fans (the Fantastic vent is designed to allow additional air flow for the fan and costs just a few dollars more, slightly different shape but colors are the same). If you're in Good Sam, they'll even install them for about $15 each which was way cheaper than me breaking my neck falling off the roof!

Also lets you air out the trailer, when it isn't being used, by allowing you to open the vents without fear of rain getting in.

When I got to installing the vent cover on motorized vent I realized cover would hit. I had chosen cover to match those already in place.. Called manufacturer (which I believe is same as yours). Answer was that it is ok if cover hits as it has torque sensing and stops at that point with no damage done. That was over a year ago and all is well. Call them to verify for yourself.
