Silverado Towing Capacity

Could anybody tell me what my towing capacity is on my 2007 Chevrolet Silverado (New style not Calssic) 1500 4x4 Crew Cab LTZ Shortbed, 5.3L, 3.73 gear ratio? Also has 20" wheels. Thinking about pulling a Flagstaff 27RLSS or V-Lite 28 WRBS. I have been told conflicting stories. Thanks in advance.

Edmunds has it at 10500, the manual should tell you as well.

Don't think you'll have a problem, I have an 05Silverado Ext Cab 5.3L w/ 3.23 rear and pulled an 08Flagstaff 831RLSS over 30,000 miles with no problems.

Checking the spec and the towing cap. range from 5500 lbs standard to max of 10,500 lbs. I would go to the chevy dealership and have them check the cap. using your vin number.

I believe I have the same vehicle in an 08. Called my dealer because I was also getting conflicting info.

7500lbs max trailer with wd system.
13000 gvw

I pull a Grey Wolf 25rr toyhauler. Dry weight is 4800 ish. Loaded with a 700lb ATV I know it's back there but it pulls fine on flat roads. 11-12mpg. I cruise about 60-65. When you get on the hills it has to kick down quite a bit but I'm ok slowing down. Some people wanna go 70 all the time.

I have a 2008 but it is the heavy duty 1/2 ton, it is called the "VORTEC MAX" on the side of the doors, it has a 6.0 gas engine with a 4:10 rear 4 speed heavy duty automatic transmission with the heavy duty towing package and it is rated for 10,500 lbs towing cap. The heavy duty 1/2ton with this equipment was made only for two years and then GM did away with the heavy duty 1/2 ton. In 2007 it was called the "1500 HD" and in it's last year the 2008 it;s name had changed to the " VORTEC MAX". Earlier models was called "THE HEAVY CHEVY". but the equipment was different back then and the tow rating was lower.

So now you can get a standad 1/2 ton or you have to go to the HD models.
