Slide creeps out

I've noticed that driving down the road, my slide seems to inch it's way out a little. I can see the gap between the slide and the side of my RV get noticeably wider. Every so often I need to hit the "in" button and it slides back in about an inch. The it slowly works it's way back out again. It only goes about an inch out, just so that I notice it, and it's enough that when I hit the "in" button you can see/feel it move.

I've got slide locks in place, but it still seems to inch out. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
brian

Brian,

I take it this is a Hydraulic operated slide system. If so, here are a few things that can cause this problem:

Leaking Hydraulic Fluid. Make sure you have NO external fluid leaks.

Air in system. Extend and Retract the slide room several times, then check the fluid level.

An internal leak at the piston seal in the slide actuating cylinder. Repair or Replace actuating cylinder. Depending on the make and model of the slide-out system, there is a test to check for a bad actuating cylinder.
