Snap pads

Any one have the snap pads for your jacks. Looks interesting. Currently have orange pads that I place under each jack.

Pricey but nice. So many resorts now require pads. One less thing to have to store in my bins.

Looked them up. I see how they could be beneficial, but in my case, I almost always use my wood blocks that I build anyway. The same ones I use when setup in the driveway. I guess it would be less weight and also less to take with you each time you leave, but for my $$$ I don't see a huge benefit.

Maybe I'm wrong on that though, since I don't have them, or know anyone with them.

Snap Pads

Hello, I really like our snap pads. Pretty easy to install. They improve stability and isolate the RV from the ground a little. It looks like everyone is low in stock right now, and not giving very good deals. I would wait until later in the year. I pretty sure I bought mine around Christmas. The company has a tool so you know which model # to buy.

My neighbor has them on his Motor Home and likes them. But he sill needs to carry front wheel ramps for his MB motor home, since the front tires sometimes are lifted off the ground when he levels his RV on a slop surface.

I instead carry 2 packs of the LEGGO style pads and wood for my hydraulic levers on my 5th wheel. I tend to like to keep the hydraulic rams short as possible to lessen the movement in the trailer. As we walk about when we are in the trailer. The snap pads do not provided enough thickness to keep the legs short as possible.

So, when I level there are usually 3 to 4 plastic pads under each ram at the axles (4 rams) and up to eight (8) inches max of wooden blocks under the 2 front legs. This and two (2) x-chocks between the tires keep the trailer motion in the trailer away, nice an firm when walking in the trailer.

We have the Snap Pads on our 5er and our observations are:
1) More surface area to for the landing gear
2) Better stability as the pads appear to provide more "grip" than the flat metal plates
3) They help to keep the cylinders cleaner when down (rain splash)

We like the pads. Pricey --- yes. Worth it? I would lean towards yes.

We still use those large "lego" type blocks in order to keep the cylinders from extending too much.

And if we ever trade or sell the RV, they are coming off and will used on the next rig.

Hey JD, do you have the newer model design with drainage? The originals were terrible about retaining water. Have you tried to remove one yet? NO FUN

I have them on my 2019 FR3 33DS
Easy to install. They improve stability and your jacks wont bury itself into soft ground. Better Grip & footprint.
Does help at times not having to add leveling blocks, but id still keep them. You really dont want to extend your cylinders too much Well worth the investment

I won a set a couple of years ago. We always put LynxLevelers under each landing gear leg to shorten the length that the leg extended. I saw no difference in stability or feel before or after adding the SnapPads.

I do like having them when we park at Walmarts especially in the warmer months. I like the extra size of the pad to help keep from damaging the asphalt.

I honestly don't know if I'd buy them again.

$200 for a set of 4 plastic pads?!? Wow, I'm going to have to pass on that one! I use lynx levelers at $35 for a pack of 10 and a cheap 1x6" board cut in squares for caps.

Just recently purchased a set directly from SnapPad. Checked several sources and the best deal was purchasing direct. Was advised that I would be on a waiting list but my order still came in within a week.
