Snow removal

Is it common to clean off snow off of your TT's roof? I read on a few sites that the weight of the snow can cause leaks and damage. I dropped my TT off at storage so I don't have access to it right away. I'm concerned about the snow we are getting today in Northern NJ.

I was going to buy a 26' roof rake in order to take the snow off but I am holding off until I get some feedback from you guys.
