So close but...

As life changes I found myself getting out in my trailer less & less with each passing year. I really want my driveway back too so I can park in the middle of it without needing to park close enough but not too close to the trailer.

A guy came by and inquired if I would be interested in selling. Within a short period of time we were discussing a deal but I wanted to think it over that night. All this happened in the last afternoon.

Around 6:30 pm I sent a text explaining I wasn’t ready to sell. At 11:30 pm he replied back with an attempt to guilt me. However, instead I caught him in lies. I decided to wait to reply back. In the morning he texted & came up a little on price. Once I got off work I responded back. I also explained that I had a trip planned that I wanted to keep.

Would you believe that I’ve two other offers for it? LOL - and at the same price too. Wonder what would happen if I advertise it? It’s not that my unit is great but it’s a nice basic trailer in very good condition & maintained. I’ve recently had the roof redone, as well as replacing the awning & both batteries.

After the interest I started going in my trailer to visit. Sounds silly but sitting at the table playing cards or just taking care of the interior has helped me feel connected to it again.

I was so close to being an ex/RV owner. I’m glad I felt rushed & decided to hit the brakes.

I appreciate hearing your story. I'm glad to hear you made your own decision, and didn't feel pressured into selling and now feeling you had done the wrong thing. I'm pretty sure a lot of us get a connection to our RVs and they almost become a member of the family. My wife and I are missing our trailer a lot lately as we're deep into winter in Saskatchewan and it sits at our seasonal site. It's been a while since we've checked on it. But when we used to store it in our yard I did what you are doing on nicer days - just a little puttering around to feel that connection again.

I think your other offers may have been the same guy. What are the chances you got 3 identical offers without advertising it? So have fun with him.

Keep telling him the other guys keep moving the price up. See what he does

Setting aside that I know the other two persons, your theory would work better had the other offers been lower making his offer look best.

BTW The other two people that made the offers were my lawn guy and my sister co-worker. They both knew how much the 1st guy had offered.

I wonder if the RV market is like the housing market in some areas? Start a bidding war!
