Staying around the north part of Phoenix

We are leaving next week for Pasadena,Ca.Plan on stopping off in the Pheonix area the 23rd or so until the 26th to visit family. Are there campgrounds that have spaces left for short stays.I know I'll be lucky to find a spot, but thought I'd pick the collective brain power here first.

I would start calling CG now to book, I know that when I went through Northern Florida last year at this time. We found one way out in the boonies that had a spot to stay for the night. Sometimes with all the snowbirds it's pretty hard to find a spot. I know 4 years ago in San Bernardino California the only place we could find was at a mobile home park, so don't rule them out found out alot will rent to you, some even have it all set up for TT...

Phoenix Area Camp Sites

Try Usery State Park campgrounds. Really nice open sites and only about 1/2 full right now. Let us all know how your trip goes ! Rick

Try Lake pleasant close to the intersection of I-17 and travel 74. Beautiful sites. Check availability at MaricipaCounty regional parks web site. Loved it there! Water and electric; dump at entrance to campground.

We stayed at a campground at Apache Junction that was fairly empty at Christmas time. It's near where the big Phoenix sign is set in rocks on the side of the big hill (mountain) East of Phoenix. Mystic Mountain CC or something like that

We were in Phoenix this past February for the Barrett-Jackson auction and stayed for 6 days at the Phoenix Metro RV Park, on Black Canyon Hwy. Their website :Phoenix Metro RV Park - The Perfect RV Park In Phoenix Ariziona
Granted it is 55+ community, but the facilities and park are excellent. Sites are not as close as some others we have used. Prices were good also. I would stay there again if we traveled to Phoenix in the future.

Phoenix Metro RV Park usually has a couple of short stay spaces, and we like the park and staff. It's just off I-17 near the Deer Valley road.

D-B,thanks for the link.looks like that is the place we will be. Several sites still open. Will confirm our reservations in the morning. Wish we were leaving now as the weather here in Kansas is so cold. This weekend we will be in the low single digits with snow Saturday.

Cold in Kansas City

But that should help the KC Chiefs as they prepare to battle the warm weathered Tennessee Titans.
