Storing items in refrigerator

Evening, how do folks keep the items in your refrigerator from sliding back and forth or side to side while traveling? Do not want to open the door and have items fall to the floor.

Also same question on the glass plate in the microwave. I’m not trying to make rocket science out of having fun just thinking ahead. Thank you for the help.

They make spring loaded bars for the inside of the frig to hold things in and we always put all our bread, extra towels in the micro to keep plate from bouncing around.

I wrap the microwave turntable plate with a tea towel for travel. For the fridge we use tension type curtain rods. The smaller ones come in sizes down to 12 inches.

We wrap the whole microwave glass plate in a hand towel and set it back in the microwave. The towel cushions the bottom and all sides of the glass plate.

In the refrigerator we have tool chest type heavy duty shelf liner on the bottom shelf to minimize items from sliding. The upper shelves have lighter weight items packed in to minimize movement. We try to keep everything plastic and avoid sliding, rattling glass containers.

If you are pulling a TT you may not know what is going on back there, but in a motorhome you have a kitchen right behind you and you hear all the rattling if you don’t take steps to mitigate it.

For the microwave we trimmed a pool noodle to wedge between the glass plate and the top of the microwave. Fits real snug and the glass plate stays in place.

All of the above suggestions are good for protecting the microwave plate.

We do the pool noodle in the microwave trick as well, and it works great. We’ve never really had a huge issue with things sliding around too much in the fridge.

Tension bars on each shelf as well as in the freezer will certainly keep your blood pressure in check. Also, I use a short lenght of a pool noodle to hold the turn table in place in the microwave. I have also found that I should NOT have left heavy items in the frige door shelves. Replacements are not cheap.

I bought a 5 pack of pool noodles when we bought the camper. Tons of uses, microwave, awning arms to flag them and protect my noggin. Protect fishing poles.

Our fridge is usually so packed tight nothing can rattle. We shove in a clean towel if there is space to spare.

2x on usefulness of pool noodles.

In our 36CK2, we try to remember to take the microwave glass table out, wrap it in a towel and then store it in the towel drawer. Doesn't always happen though .

We have the french door residential refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. In the freezer we don't do anything special. In the refrigerator portion, we line the shelves with a foamy type of shelf liner, use various combinations of plastic baskets and packing items tight so they can't move.

We use baskets pretty similar to this - $.96 at Walmart for 2 - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays...x-2-4/16224496. We also use the same thing in pantry drawers for spices and some other items.
Haven't had anything that I recall fall out.

We use clear plastic bins of various sizes to hold everything. We also use museum putty on the front edge to keep the more fragile items (eggs) from moving too much.

We also use tension bars on the fridge. We place empty water bottles in the back against the cooling fins to avoid contact freezing of veggies. A tension bar for each shelf and the freezer.

X2. For the microwave we just fashion a 13"x13" piece of tool box matting, remove the carousel, lay the matting on the rollers, then turn the carousel over and place it on the matting. Doesn't move at all.

Going home: combine everything on one shelf and stuff in a couple towels.

I have been known to take a spare roll of paper towels and put it in the fridge to take up space.
