I tossed my brand new Forest River mattress without ever using it.
In went a quality residential queen mattress.

We got a short queen SleepNumber mattress for our RV. A little pricey, but we sleep well.

First thing I did was toss the crappy factory mattress. Bought a Perfect Comfort inflatable mattress. Sleep just like home. The only issue is I need to recalibrate every time I move and turn the thing off.

Take a look at Parklane RV Mattresses. Theyíre made in the USA (Oregon). We had one in our old camper and bought another when we got our current rig. Itís an innerspring mattress and *very* comfortable.

I slept on my New RV mattress once then got the Zinus 8 inch thick, RV Queen to replace it. I didnít want it too think so I donít have to jump up too high to get on the bed. I find it comfortable. As another wrote, get the 8Ē, or 10Ē Zinus, and yes it is available on Amazon, I just checked. If you already got a new mattress then great, for others looking here is the link:

Zinus

We had the same problem with our Grey Wolf 26dbh. I went and ordered a Zinus short queen 8Ē mattress off of amazon. Inexpensive and incredibly comfortable. It was under $200 and quite possibly the best money Iíve ever spent! Good luck!

We had the Queen Serta that came with our 2021 Flagstaff. Hard as a rock. Just went to Wal-Mart and picked up a 3" topper. This is the one I believe - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Allswell-...ueen/582797594
Slept perfectly and cool. I believe it comes in 1,2,3 and maybe 4" thick.

Did the same thing when we had a Keystone 5th wheel years ago. Also slept great.

We replaced piece of foam of a mattress after a couple of trips. Had no regrets. Here is where we got ours.

I have a Rockwood and just ordered a mattress from www.mattressinsider.com.

My sister got a Nash 18FM with Murphy bed. For some reason, she's telling me that part of the bed folds, so she's not sure she can replace hers. Odd.

Zinus 10"

We ordered a Spa Sensations by Zinus 10" Memory Foam mattress from Walmart. It wasn't the RV length so I used an electric carving knife and cut the end of the mattress off to make it RV length. It was super easy and the electric knife went through it like butter! The mattress is every bit as comfortable as my Tempurpedic!

Will most mattresses fit a Murphy bed? Ours in our Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104S with an inch and a half foam topper isn't too bad, but we'd like something softer.

Make or buy.

I saved some money by ordering mattress material from Foambymail.com. They are a joy to work with and will sell parts or make custom. I bought two different density foam blanks as recommended by Amanda, the rep. They sell covers too but I reused used the existing zipper cover which is junk too. I added a one inch memory foam topper and itís perfect now. Wait till you see the rebond batting that is in there. Mine went to the curb less some that I used for boat cushions. One tip. When cutting foam an electric carving knife from Walmart for $11 is the ticket.

We feel your pain! Mattress Insider has great mattresses. We bought the one with memory foam and individuality-wrapped coils to help with movement (DH moves around A LOT!!). Itís like night and day! Good luck in your search. Safe travels and happy camping!

MattressInsider.com

We have bought a couple of mattresses from MatressInsider.com and we couldn't be happier with our decision. They have special sizes for RVs as well. Our current mattress from them is so comfortable we have a hard time adjusting to our bed at home after a long trip.

I replaced the stock mattress with the same one I use at home. Never used the stock mattress. When sitting hits bottom, you know the mattress is not good.
