The end is in sight.

Today, we bought a new RV cover, anti freeze and booked our last trip of the season up in Acadia NP for early October.

I can't believe the season's end is coming. It seems like only last week we were prepping for our first trip of the season. We had a very fun season and I'm sad that winter is on the horizon.

Gee wiz! We have two months left of summer! Then there is the hope of maybe having a day in the seventies. I'm always tired of heat and humidity this time of year. Our most humid months are August and September. That is why we see the peak of hurricane season during this time. We even had 80 degrees last Christmas.

There is only 6 weeks left in our season. That's only 12 potential camping days left.

My plan is to keep camping as long as I can and just look for places not buried under snow and ice. Cold I don't mind (although nothing around here is as cold as it gets in some places).

They talk about golden years. For me it's the "Platinum Years" and I don't have any time to waste sitting around the house. I figure that as long as I keep moving I'll be following Satchel Paige's advice, "don't look back, something may be gaining on you", to the max.

We use our Cardinal at least 8 nights a month -- year-round. Sometimes that means multiple winterizations but we enjoy being out and about.

Same here. Would hate to think there's a season.

Heading to S. Arizona in 4 weeks for the winter. 120 + camping days left for 2017. Then start out 2018 with 90 more. Then back north for another 200 or so.

I love retirement, [emoji3]

We have until at least half way thru November, unless the rains come early. (northern California)

Hot and humid here in Florida, but if we don't get out and camp now, we won't do any. Once the snowbirds come there aren't any sites left! That's why we have air conditioning.

Sure are short summers up here in the northeast. We've sworn to get out every weekend in September after being tied up a handful of weekends in July and August. Then there's dealing with the earlier sunsets when you want leave after work and have to set up camp with flashlights. We usually camp within 4-5 hours of where we live, at least until we retire and have more time.

You should try winter camping in Texas. Campers from the northern USA and Canada are not "snowbirds", we are Winter Texans. We are welcomed, embraced and appreciated. Places are not overcrowded and rates are reasonable. Don't worry about this guy from Ohio filling one of your sites.

Rain doesn't stop me. Snow and Ice however might cause me to hunker down for a few days until roads are clear. Only thing keeping me off the road now is sub freezing weather. I don't know how much time I have left so I'm going to enjoy as much as I do.

We're looking for every fall or Halloween themed week around the area that we can to get the most out of the days we have left when October rolls around. We're hoping for a good Indian summer!

Past October, never go to a state that has a fishing "season".

Gulf Shores in winter for us. Up Nawth in summer. In the middle, we're in the Middle!

I really con't complain. We've covered 10,000+ miles, 30+ days and at least 15 states this season alone and we still have more than a month to go.

I'll worry about winterizing after the Festival of Lights FROG Rally in Charleston SC in mid-December. I may need that long to find the low point drains, and the drain for the Truma, on the new beast... At least I know where the fresh water tank drain is...one down three to go...

There isn't a label somewhere showing their location?
