I played the movie, from that site, for about 20 minutes to see if it worked (and wasn't just a 3 minute trailer of the film). I'm not a member and wasn't sure if membership makes a difference or not, but apparently it doesn't according to your experience.
Last year someone uploaded the movie on Youtube, but was pulled due to copyright claim. I can only guess that Turner Classic Movies own the rights. It can now be viewed on Youtube for a $2.99 fee.
A DVD of the movie is available on the Turner Classic Movies website for $5.97. ( The Long, Long Trailer trailer ) Unlike the Youtube fee, at least you get something you can hold in your hand and be watched over and over again.
I saw the complete movie, on my TV, on the Turner Classic Movies channel a couple years ago.
Sorry for any confusion my original post caused. I guess the old saying " If it seems to good to be true"...it usually is. At my age, I should know better by now.

Hey, it's nothing you did wrong. It's highly unpredictable. Plays different ever time. I think I'll order the DVD. Worth having when company comes. Thanks for your work.

Loved that movie when it was new. LOL I think it sparked my love of traveling across the US in a TT and what NOT to do.

The top of that trailer is empty. No sky lites. TV antenna, FM antenna, vents, air conditioner. I see only one tank vent. But, it has a residential fridge!

They used helper wheels under the tongue so the convertible could pull and keep it even. I watched that movie several times through the years and often thought of it while pulling my first TT.
Mom and Dad lived in a small travel trailer before I was born that wasn't any bigger then my first TT. My oldest sister was a baby while they lived in it. I have a picture or two of the trailer they had and I think one of the car hooked to the trailer. I'll have to look for them. Man that goes back a long way as my sister was born in the late 1930's. I asked my wife if she knew where one of those pictures were and at least one was in a album next to my chair. I scanned it but I can't get it to rotate and it is too large. Maybe someone here can straighten it out.

Funny that I just ordered it last night without seeing this post. I grew up watching I Love Lucy reruns....

The Long long Trailer can be bought on Ebay lots of sellers.
It shows on Amazon as "out of stock".
They run new copies every so often and then you can get them on Amazon.
I got our new copy a few years ago.
Hard to say if they'll put it back in production again or not.
DVDs aren't exactly the hottest thing these days, it's all about streaming.
Kinda hard to stream a movie in a camp ground with typically slow wifi.

I just bought my copy on eBay, shipped by Barnes & Noble for $8.98. Free shipping.

We rented it for $2.99 on Google Play and cast it to our Chromecast on the TV. You can buy it from Google Play for $9.99 (downloads to your computer or other device so you can watch offline).

Funny, I look at that movie and all the elements that (back then) portray the trailer life and say, pretty much how it is now. So many things haven't changed.

Yep. I laughed when he went to take a shower and there were clothes hung there to dry. Been there, done that.
What I did find interesting is when he went to that first campground and the host parked the trailer and set it for him. I'm not sure if that was a common thing back then, but I've never seen it today.

Left a few days ago bound for Alaska. Stopped at a Barnes and Noble and bought the DVD for $4.99. Just watched it in the MH, what a great movie!
Here's some trivia. The scene where they climb over the mountain was filmed on Whitney Portal Road, just west of Lone Pine, CA, on hwy 395 which skirts the east side of the Sierras. At 14,505 feet, Mt Whitney is the highest peak in the US outside of Alaska. I climbed it when I was younger. We recognized the road because we were just there a couple of months ago. You are looking down at the Owens Valley and the Alabama Hills, where countless movies have been shot. Everything from westerns in the 30's to the Lone Ranger to Gunsmoke to Star Wars. Even Tremors (with the giant worms) was filmed in The Alabama Hills just outside of Lone Pine. The town now has a nice film museum.
