That is one good thing about living down south. We camp more in the the other three season then we do in Summer. We love camping in winter, its the only time we build a fire. LOL

Yep, and I'm doing as much as I can, while I still can, as often as I can.

Trailer is winterized and in storage, but the 4-man Clam is ready for ice fishing, and tent is ready for winter camping. Sure, it's not for everyone, but mosquitoes and ticks are not a problem, and you pretty well have the campground to yourself!! Changing season, new adventures!

Yes, it's nice to be in Cajun country. DH is out checking the LP tanks right now.

We're headed out Friday to do a "Halloween camp out" at a local lake. Kids come through the camp on hay ride trailers and we treat 'em.

I just completed what will be dinner for us Saturday night....quite a few of us going....pot luck is the order for the weekend.

My pot is GUMBEAUX!

Seafood, as in
shrimp
crawfish tails
scallops
oysters
clams
dungenuss crab legs
lump crab meat also

Andouille sausage!

did I leave anything out wmtire? How 'bout some beans???? /snort

(was gonna make venison chili and he ragged me about putting beans in it)

oops, OT I went didn't I?

well, not really since it's still about camping in late October!

One more this weekend and possibly one more before we put her away for a few months. Put the boat away for the winter today.

(chuckle) Sounds like you're living next door to me!

Enjoy it while it lasts. We'll get some nights in the 30s soon.

When we first bought our house I'd build our first fire in the fireplace as soon as the night temps hit 55.

Not any more!

DH is from Florida. He doesn't like the 30 degree temps.

I've driven through several small towns in the South where signs read, "If you lived here, you'd be home by now." There are many people down here who camp year-round and have a minimalist approach to winterization (such as just running a thermostat-controlled space heater set on 50 or something). Just sayin'...
