The Sky is Falling
Usually late in October the weather forecast will call for a night or two of temperatures just below the freezing mark. This always causes us to panic and quickly find a campground to winterize the trailer. Winterizing the trailer in October always ensures we will have a warm first half of November. Well not this year. This year we’ve already had temperatures in the teens and now we have about 5 inches of snow on the ground and it’s still snowing. This is way out of the norm for St. Louis, but for the first time in many years, I’m tickled that I winterized the trailer in October. This just ain’t right for St. Louis and Mother Nature needs to be put in a time-out.

Living here on the North shores of Lake Ontario looking out over the vastness of water towards Syracuse and Rochester.......and contrary to the rumours that us Canadians live in igloos......there’s still green grass and bare trees here.
Don’t get me wrong.....it’s still nasty cold here.
However.....something is on the way up the Eastern seaboard this afternoon/evening according to the weather prognosticators
We’re winterized up here since early October, but still missing the camping experience others get to enjoy all year round.

I'll trade my 1/4 in of ice for your 6" of snow!! Streets mostly warm enough to be OK but lots of limbs down and power out around the county. In spite of all the signs everywhere some folks just don't get that the bridges really do freeze before the roads!

Here in the mountains of Western PA we too have had snow in October this year and unusually frigid temperatures. The ski resorts have been making snow for about a month and are going to have a banner year by opening way early.
Tuesday we got 1/4" of ice and today another 1/4" already with 6-8 inches of snow behind that.
I'm glad we winterized as well although it wouldn't take but a small amount of coaxing to get me to hitch up and head for better weather!

We are having are second snow fall of the season in the Chicagoland area. We may get another 1" or so, but this will melt off fast just like the other snow we had last week.
I have seen homes with Christmas trees up all ready with decorations on the outside. They will also be the first people taking down all of their decorations on DEC 26.

We winterized this past weekend at the end of a trip here in northern Virginia. Today we have a couple inches of snow.

Oakman, I feel your pain, but did you really have to send that stuff over here to New England? Average temps for us this time of year should be in the low to mid 50's. It was 26 this morning and the white stuff is headin this way. ugh.

'Tis the season!
We too, had snow last night in the Ozarks, but with "drifts up to an inch" it is mostly gone from the roads now. GLAD I "bit the bullet" and built a nice, climate controlled RV garage!
