The tool you need for generator oil filters

I picked this tip up from a YouTube video. For those with Motorhomes or built in generators, especially an Onan 5500, this is a must have filter wrench.

This made removal of the old filter ridiculously easy.

funny you should mention this!

i could not get the filter off my onan 5500 using the end cup style filter wrench as it just spun on the end of the filter. i tried one of those lever style wrenches that collapses a band around the filter. but access is very limited under the generator, the filter doesn't stick out very far, and i could not get the band to grip on the filter. so i ordered one of these spider style wrenches. it came yesterday and i expect it to work. your recommendation on using this style wrench was very timely!
