The weather is taunting me

So last weekend, I decided that May was a safe time to De-winterize my camper. Even though this weekend's annual Mother's Day trip was cancelled due to state park closures, I figured I would get the camper all ready for whenever we CAN go out and play. So I cleared out the antifreeze, sanitized the tank, and drew the sanitized water through all the lines.

It is supposed to get down to 22 degrees tonight.

Now I know that, since it was in the 40's/50's today and will be in the 40's tomorrow, I probably have nothing to worry about. Yet I figured I might as well turn the heat on the lowest setting overnight just to be sure.

So I am now heating a camper I can't even use.

What a bummer.

I hear ya! This weather sucks this far into May. I can't even recall a temperature drop like this one at this time of year, and I'm 69. I suppose you could just shut off the water and blow the lines out with about 40psi of air. I would think it better than wasting all your propane on something you can't use anyhow.

Yep, woke up to 32 degrees near Chicago this morning. Haven't uncovered the TT yet. Hoping to in the next couple of weeks. Our May trip was cancelled by Illinois DNR. Hoping Wisconsin will open in June.

I was going to dewinterize last weekend, but got involved in another household project instead. It got below freezing last night. probably would have been ok if I had, bug I’m still glad I didn’t!

Dang, that’s more snow than Vermont had when I went skiing in early January!

Our overnight low was 27, forecast high is high 30’s. Christmas it was a low of 29 and a high of 47. Weird weather for certain.

No camping here today

Canadian Snowbirds are trying to do coast to coast fly bys for Canadian spirit against COVID. They fly at just over 1000 feet in formation.

They left earlier today to fly along the North Shore of Lake Ontario towards Toronto and beyond. They were turned back due to weather (snow flurries) East of Toronto, and are back at the military air base 100 miles East.

Maybe tomorrow.

They reported no campgrounds open anywhere they can see.

We've got 80+ temps and lots of sunshine, here in the PMW.[emoji16]
We're going to do some kayaking on the Sound and lay out in the sun.

Flying down to Florida Monday to drive my rig to Ocean City Md. Had reservations, which I thought were sure to be cancelled, but the campground opened up this weekend. Meeting 4 other parties Thursday. Hope it doesn’t freeze!

I can't remember if it was June of '62 or '63 when I was a kid growing up in southern Lake County of northern Indiana. About 40 miles southeast of Chicago. I remember we were out of school for the summer and living in the first house that I remember as a kid. We had peas blooming in our garden and we got 6" of snow over night. All traces of snow was gone by 10am the next day. I believe the day was June 3rd.

We've already seen temps in the 100s so I'm looking forward to the next week with weather in the high 80s/low 90s. Only problem now are the incessant winds that keep us from doing yard work let alone drive down the freeway.
