I don't think they knew about 5th Wheels. I would hate to be towing and reversing this monster.

At Wave Rock caravan park in Western Australia.

I've posted quite a few in a row here (I binged on it today) and this is about the end of it, until our next trip. I'ts been fun reading through this thread. I am glad it got started and considering that the number posts to it is up in the 300's, others think so too.

Thanks for the encouragement. These shots have been included in another thread (somewhere here so sorry for the repeats) and are of painted grain silos in very small country towns in central Victoria. The string of them now form what has become known as the Silo Trail. It started as a PR boost for one particular community at Brim and has snowballed, with a variety of street artists (even one from Europe came here) painting another 6, with more scheduled. Other states, South Australia and New South Wales in particular also starting their own sets.

These silos are a bit different to the usual murals you see in towns, they depict aspects of country life with locals to the area used as models. They are painted using weather proof pigments and with the aid of devices like cherry pickers.

If you Google Painted Silos Victoria, you can get a lot more info on them.

The first image is what's known as The Dog Fence. It was built by land owners to stop dingoes from spreading into sheep country. Dingoes like sheep (and babies apparently). The fence built in the 1880's stretches 5614 km's from southern Queensland, through the Qld, Vic, SA corner, into SA and across the Nullarbor Plain.

It's quite a sight and because of the remoteness of the landscape it traverses, is really only accessible to tourists from a few parts of the country. This shot is from just north of the Opal town of Coober Pedy, (where, apart from the businesses, most of the town folk live in underground homes made from the holes in the ground they dig looking for opal-Pic 3) near The Breakaways (pic 2).

We camped a couple of days in the overflow area of the Yalara CP at Uluru (pic 1). This was the third time we had traveled to see The Rock. This time the attraction really was the Field of Light. Wasn't sure how good the experience (complete with finger food and champagne) would be when we decided to take the 800km round trip detour from The Alice but it was worth it.

These things are part of a cluster of rock formations known as the Devil's Marbles. The devil is probably behind the camera wondering if she has enough strength to do the trick.

From one extreme to the other, roads less traveled (I think I saw that expression somewhere else).

M-7, Thanks for the great perspectives "from down under". Unless I can find some pontoons and an outboard motor, I won't be bringing my rig there. We do hope to go there someday soon!

Murbella, thank you for the great pictures! I have visited Australia a few times, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth and Hobart. I never got to see the side of AU you are sharing with us. It is beautiful.
