Things you check yourself

Hearing all the different discussions about you have to be a little handy owning an RV. Being newbie’s to rving but having owner our trucking company for 52years. I like to crawl around under and all over our Rockwood 2891 BH. Just to know what might go wrong. A lot. So Friday I’m looking underneath and find the propane pipe going to the rear outside kitchen rubbing on the sun frame. Pictures after I finish. So installed some wire loom about 18 inches and that took care of it.

They route wiring around frame gussets in a similar manner . If it wasn't such a PIA I'd like to see what horrors are under the coroplast.

a multitude of sins are hidden in most travel trailers.
we were sitting in out new trailer last year and my better half asked me how they anchor the wall panels to the interior structures.
i thought it was kind of a silly question until she went over to the mirror and pressed on the wall panel. when she did that the panel made a slurpy sort of sound. The panel was held on by the 1 inch of seam tape.

later that week the 8 foot long piece of trim over the recliners fell on us watching TV.

sometimes its better not to look for stuff that will make you upset.

OP - good find on the propane line and nice repair.

May want to check the LP line from tank/tanks to the undercarriage. I slit a section of 3/4 garden hose and wrapped and secured with zip ties around the LP hose which had been rubbing against the tank hold down. Also the pig tail connectors from tank to regulator need to be inspected periodically. Not sure how much gas I lost prior to smelling it while near the tanks. Not indoor at least so not critical.

The front half of my coroplast pealed back on a trip down to Florida. What a mess. My heat ducts were dragging on the ground! I wire loomed a bunch and replaced 99% of the flex heat duct with rigid aluminum. I did end up with better air flow from the furnace...
