Towing a boat with a home-made trailer.

The guy towing what appears to be an entire tree tied down with a garden hose is a bonus.

None of them were there. That would have been cool, but they are hardly ever there. Just dirt and rust.Click image for larger version

This is the second operational pay phone I have seen here in Nova Scotia. This one last night was inside the restaurant where we had dinner. Are there ANY operational ones in the USA?

Fisherman's Memorial at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. One man chiseled this into a very large granite rock. He began when he was 70 years old.

Yep, Four Mile Creek State Park has at least one. I haven't looked at the other bath/laundry houses, but the one closest to me does.

And most of the stuff on display is "Not for Sale."

But you can buy T-shirts, of course!

Very much like their Nashville store, which is also really small compared to what you see on TV.

South of Colorado Springs and then south of Fountain at the Pikes Peak International Raceway on I-25. Just to the north of the raceway is a large dirt lot full of vehicles. All you can see here is little black dots. Those little black dots are all VW diesel cars that VW bought back from the owner due to the emissions fiasco. Several 1,000 of them. You can use Google Earth and zoom in to see them very clearly. I suspect there is also an east coast VW graveyard. Check it out the next time you travel that stretch of I-25.

There are about 100,000 payphones still in the U.S. About a fifth of them are in New York.

There used to be a lot in the parking lot of the Pontiac Silverdome (old home of the Detroit Lions). Not sure if they are still there or not.

Back in the day before cell phone cameras there are 2 things I remember seeing and still talk about....driving along an interstate, looked up on a hill and saw a huge sign that advertised "Used cows for sale". The other was on our way to the Baseball Hall of Fame in New York about 10-12 years ago. A 1960's station wagon was passing me and standing in the back looking at me was a Holstein calf.

I wonder if you can buy a VW from them that’s been recalled. I could strip the emissions off and get great fuel mileage
