In the pic I posted from the Cass Scenic website they show a Heisler emblem on the front of the loco. If it is a Shay, I wonder why they would put a Heisler tag on it?

Two hand I was replying to the Pic that Scrapper posted,which was a Shay! You posted a Pic of a Heisler witch it is,I was just pointing out the Drive systems of all 3!  Youroo!!

They have 8 Shays, one Climax and one Heisler.

The oldest operational Shay is located at the Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in West Virginia as their locomotive No. 5. It was first bought in 1905 by the West Virginia Pulp & Paper Co. at Cass. Number 5 is in fact still running on its original rail since it first ran in 1905.

I WAS supposed to be at the KOA in Eureka, MO today. Unfortunately, I'm instead moving my in-laws into a retirement home; had to cancel the KOA. My phone says rain in 19 minutes! The clouds are forecast to start to break up around 2pm, about 45 minutes too late. I'm pretty disappointed.

Yeah. Me too. The direction this front is moving doesn't help either. We may not be able to tell it even happens if we get those nasty thunderstorms.

I'm 3 minutes from that KOA. In fact, I drive by it on my way to work. Sucks that you couldnt make it. Weather here is very good for viewing. Its approx 12:54 and the moon is just about halfway over the sun.

I looked at it through a welding helmet and tried to get a photo with the cell phone through the helmet but there was too much reflection between the two with the driveway surrounding a orange ball. Didn't think of putting the camera against the glass.
