Looks like someone came across a "rear-ender" and rather than separate the parts just welded and bondo'd it to smooth the rough edges.

A little cool spell in the 60s but back to the 80s here next week in Az.
Oh ya. Watch A&E, Live PD on the weekends. They are in our back yard of Pinal Co., Az. catching the bad guys. Now I need to behave or stay home on Friday and Saturday nights. Step out of line and all my friends up north could know what I did before I get home.
